Pretrial Services Agency (PSA)

The Pretrial Services Agency for the District of Columbia is the federal agency that works to endorse pretrial justice for defendants and improve community safety. PSA provides supervision and services to defendants who are awaiting trial and ensure that defendants on conditional release return to court and refrain from further criminal activity. Additionally, this agency prepares recommendations to the Court that inform decisions about conditions of release. Services available to defendants released to the community include a variety of programs that include drug treatment, mental health services and referrals to a range of social services.
